the other day i was talking to my mom on the phone and she had this great idea that i should go for a little dental check up. so i researched dentists in the area and found two that got great ratings. i went to both websites and perused a little before choosing one completely at random. so then i got to call and make an appointment and talk insurance with a receptionist for like 20 minutes only to find out i need to call my mom for more information because they can't look up our policy with what i've told her. so i try calling my mom about a million times, finally get a hold of my dad, and find out that she is at my sister's ortho appointment. so i call my sister's phone and after a brief chat with her i finally got to speak with my mom {whose phone had apparently died}. and i get a little more information and call back the dental office of my choosing ready to get this taken care of when the lady tells me they were able to look up my policy after all. this is funny, right?
so today i had my appointment. and found out that the office that i thought was nearby was actually a thirty minute drive from here {same city, but DEFINITELY not a close distance. curse my lack of google mapping it BEFORE the lengthy appointment making phone call.} AND i got on a wrong freeway and got totally lost getting there. i even had to call and ask for directions like a big loser ha. i finally made it there fifteen minutes late and after filling out some paper work i got my teeth cleaned and x-rays taken and felt like a champ. now i just had to wait for the dentist to come look everything over and send me on my way.
but when the dentist came in he did NOT simply send me on my way. instead he informed me that i have not one, but two cavities! and i say, wait seriously? and he goes, uh yeah. and there's two other teeth they wanna "keep an eye on." well, let me tell you, i am gonna be brushing the crap out of my teeth for the next few weeks and when i go back for my fillings they are gonna tell me those two other teeth look GREAT. i hope. and if not...
i hope your week is going a bit better than mine, but if not, just remember what they said in high school musical, "we're all in this together." WOW I'M COOL.
love,
mrs. dtf

ahhhhh i hate the dentist more than anything. seriously though. i'm pretty sure i have a cavity and i haven't been to the dentist in a year, crap.

:( I went and the dentist lady said I have a couple too... I cried on the inside. I'm so ashamed to have cavities I haven't been back.
ReplyDeletehaha well just a thought, but you might wanna consider getting them filled cause they can spread. when i had baby teeth i had a few that spread and ended up with NINE total! gross, right?
DeleteWell your teeth look lovely! Funny story, I hate trying to get ahold of parents sometimes it is so hard! This reminds me, I need to get my teeth cleaned soon.
