the unattainable alignment

sometimes your car needs an alignment pretty badly. and you don't take care of it for a long long time and your right front tire is dangerously bald. so you finally decide to just go get it taken care of. well, that's what i thought i was gonna do yesterday after my less-than-cheery trip to the dentist. so i drove to les schwab and asked for an alignment and the guy told me they could do it in two and a half hours.

well obviously i didn't intend to sit at les schwab for two and a half hours just to wait for my hour long alignment so i asked if he could call the other les schwabs in the area to see if they could take me sooner or even later if they were closer to home where i could eat lunch, watch t.v., blog, etc. while i waited. the guy acted TOTALLY annoyed and when he called the other stores he kept saying in this rude snobby voice, "yeah, well she wants it done BEFORE two o'clock." and i wanted to scream in his ear NOT NECESSARILY. because he obviously didn't listen to me.

anyway he finishes calling everyone and says no one has anything before two and i tell him fine, but will he please direct me to the closest les schwab to where i live so i can get the alignment done somewhere more convenient. and he makes yet another fuss about it and finally tells me which location is best. so i head over to THAT location and the guy says it will be a one hour wait. i decided that was my best option and killed some time by grabbing lunch at baja fresh {does anyone else have a severe addiction to their black salsa? cause i find it to be quite incredible.} and then making a quick stop by target for a new book and caving in and getting starbucks as well. i had a long wait ahead of me still! and i deserved it! kinda.

so i drove back to les schwab with my book and my starbucks and i was content to sit for an hour and wait for my alignment. and i did. i waited, and i read, and i drank my drink. and after nearly an hour a man called my name {and i'm thinking, wahoo! it's over!} and i went over to pay. but the thing is, i didn't have to pay. because apparently they didn't do ANYTHING. something about our tie rods needing to be replaced first. so mr. dtf is getting all handy and researching how to replace tie rods because the quote they gave us was RIDICULOUS and mr. dtf can fix just about anything on our trusty volvo. i went and picked up all the parts he needs and hopefully it will be all fixed and ready for an alignment NEXT week. and they better not make me wait an hour for nothing again. cause i don't think i can take anymore of this les schwab drama.

love,
mrs. dtf

p.s. mr. dtf and i are headed to utah tonight and i won't be posting until next week. just a heads up so you don't think i don't love you anymore. cause i do. i love you guys. enjoy your weekend!

  4. Cars. *headshake*. Can't live with them, can't live without them. At least not in a place with less than stellar public transport.
